Many of you reading this have probably seen a video of a giant halibut being landed in mirror-clear water, or scrolled through pictures of red sea cabins set against dramatic mountains and thought: that is something I want to experience. Perhaps you have followed someone on social media posting catch photos straight from the boat, and felt the quiet thrill of recognising that this is for you. Or perhaps you have fished for many years, and now the time has finally come to travel to a place where the fishing is genuinely outstanding.

Whatever your background or experience level, you have arrived at the right place. We are a Norwegian tour operator specialised in sport-fishing trips along the Norwegian coast — and each year we help anglers from across the Nordics and the rest of Europe turn that dream into reality. We know the destinations, we know the fish, and we know the particular mix of anticipation and uncertainty that comes with booking a trip to an unfamiliar coast, with a company you have not travelled with before.

1. First contact: How you discover Din Tur

It starts somewhere. Perhaps it was a friend who came home with a catch they could not stop talking about. Perhaps it was a short video clip that appeared in your feed, a blog post about cod fishing in Lofoten, or a search that began with “fishing trip Norway” and ended with you reading half our website.

The Norwegian coast offers something very few places in the world can match — clean fjords, fishing grounds with little pressure, and fish populations that are genuinely where they should be. We have spent many years identifying the very best destinations for anglers who take their fishing seriously, and we are proud of what we are able to offer.

Please feel free to browse our website and blog. There you will find season reports, destination overviews with practical information, advice on equipment, and honest feedback from guests who have travelled with us and experienced exactly what you are now imagining.

2. Planning: Questions are welcome, and we answer them properly

When the dream begins to take shape and you start picturing specific dates, the questions usually arrive. Which destination suits my group best? When you visit dintur.com you can navigate by:

  • Destination — Lofoten, Helgeland, Southern Norway, Finnmark and several other regions
  • Type of fishing — sea fishing, fjord fishing, salmon rivers, ice fishing
  • Type of accommodation — rorbu cabins, cottages, hotels, apartments
  • Season — from winter cod to summer salmon

On every destination and product page you will find what you need to make an informed decision: what is included, what boat you will have at your disposal, which species you can expect, where you will sleep, and what you need to bring yourself. We try to answer your questions before you have a chance to ask them.

Unsure what suits you best? Then move straight to the next step: get in touch.

3. Contact and offer: What happens when you reach out

You can contact us in several ways — by e-mail, by telephone, or through our contact form. Choose whichever suits you best. When we receive your enquiry, it goes to one of our travel consultants.

You will normally receive a reply within one working day, and often faster. The offer we send you will include:

  • A price, clearly specifying what is included and what is not
  • Suggested travel dates and alternative periods
  • A description of the accommodation, boat and fishing area
  • Recommendations based on your group size, experience and wishes

If something in the offer does not fit, we adjust it. There is no cost to request an offer, and you are not committed to anything until you confirm yourself.

4. Booking and payment: Secure and straightforward

Once you are ready, the booking itself is straightforward. You have two options, and both work well: book directly online, or confirm the offer with our booking team. Whichever route you choose, you will receive a written booking confirmation with all the practical information, and you can choose between several payment methods:

  • Card payment with Visa or Mastercard
  • Invoice and bank transfer

For most trips you pay a deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due in good time before departure. The amounts and deadlines are stated clearly in the confirmation. We do not charge hidden fees, and you will always receive a receipt.

If something changes — for example, if someone in your group falls ill — please contact us. Amendment and cancellation rules follow the terms of your booking, and we recommend that all guests take out travel insurance that covers cancellation.

5. Before departure: We make sure you are ready

Once payment has been completed, we begin preparing you properly. You will not be left to fend for yourself after a confirmation arrives in your inbox. We send you a set of travel documents containing what you need to know:

  • Arrival information with a direct number to your host at the destination — so you always have someone to call if anything is unclear
  • Destination information with practical tips and an idea of what to expect on the ground
  • Nautical charts of the fishing grounds in the area, so you have your bearings before you even step on board

This means you arrive prepared. You know who to call, you know what awaits you, and you know — in broad terms — where the fish tend to hold. The rest is up to you and the weather.

6. The trip itself: We are nearby, even when we are not on site

Many of our guests choose to book flights and ferries as part of their package. It is a convenient solution, and it means you have us as an additional safety net during the journey. Should something go wrong — delayed flights, cancellations or other unforeseen events — you are not dealing solely with yourself and the airline. We are available and we help where we can.

Some of our destinations also offer airport transfers, which you can book regardless of whether you arranged your transport through us or independently. The destination pages clearly indicate which locations offer this service. Prices are provided on request.

And then — arrival. You shake off the journey, take in your surroundings, and prepare for the morning ahead. The boat is ready at the jetty. The only thing left to decide is which lure to start with.

7. After the trip: We would very much like to hear from you

A good fishing trip does not end the moment you cast off for the last time. Some of the best memories take shape on the way home — when you scroll through catch photos and start telling the kind of stories that grow gently with each retelling.

We very much appreciate hearing what you think. A review on Trustpilot is one of the most valuable contributions you can make, both to us and to fellow anglers who are now in the planning phase and wondering exactly what you once wondered. Please share photos with us as well, either directly or via social media. It is difficult to describe the pleasure of seeing a guest proudly holding up a large halibut just outside one of our sea cabins.

And are you already thinking about the next trip? It happens more often than you might imagine that guests rebook on the same day they arrive home. There is something about Norwegian sea air.
