Why to book your flights with Din Tur

With flights into Tromsø, Evenes, Bodø, Trondheim and Bergen from across Europe, finding a flight to the Norwegian coast is rarely the hard part. What’s easy to overlook is what happens right after you land, or just before you fly home again. A late arrival can mean the day’s last Hurtigbåt has already left the quay. An early departure flight can mean there is no ferry to the land to catch.
These are the details that decide whether your trip starts and ends smoothly — not which airport you happen to fly into. The same goes for what’s included on the flight itself, such as the baggage allowance, which is worth its own explanation rather than a quick mention here.
We guarantee that your flight, your cabin or boat, and your transfers are booked together – under one confirmation, with one point of contact for the whole trip- Din Tur AS. We currently offer flight connections into five airports along the coast – Tromsø, Evenes, Bodø, Trondheim and Bergen – and whichever one matches your destination, it’s arranged by us directly, not something you need to sort out with the airline or travel agent on the side. We also keep an eye on the details that connect one leg of journey; local ferry, local transfers or rental cars.
Getting to the far north often works best with a planned stop, not against one. Many of the best flight combinations from continental Europe land late in Norway, with the only realistic onward connection to the final destination departing early the next morning.
If this is the case for your point of departure, we are here to help you with the hotel booking, most often at the Oslo airport, given the availability allows, only walking distance from the terminal, so catching the first flight of the day is no hassle.
No other option than return flight early in the morning before a first departure of the local ferry? No problem, we are here to plan for that too and arrange hotel stay for you on land.
We guarantee that you are not on your own if a flight is delayed, cancelled, or affected by an airline strike. Because we book on your behalf, we step in on the practical side – if the rebooking does not happen automatically from the airline’s side, we help rebooking you onto the next available connection, and supporting you if you want to claim compensation from the airline. That includes the paperwork and back-and-forth that come with a claim, which is far easier to handle with a Norwegian-based travel specialist behind you than from abroad on your own.

As a tour operator we have access to fares that allow you to take 2 x 23 kg checked-in baggage per person on most flights we book, rather than the single bag – or hand luggage only – that many standard online fares include. That’s room for all your gear on the way out: rods in their cases, waders, boots, and everything else that doesn’t fit easily into a single suitcase. On the way home, it comfortably covers the fish you’re bringing with you.
Book a budget fare on your own, and you may find that second bag either isn’t an option at all, or costs more once added than the flight itself did – an unwelcome surprise we make sure our guests never have to deal with.
Smaller or larger groups, we can facilitate the flight inquiries for both.
Many of our guests travel as a group of friends or colleagues, all heading to the same cabin or boat. We guarantee that we book your whole party together in one go, and that we work to keep you on the same flights if anything changes – rather than leaving each of you to find and book your own way north separately, the way a disruption can split a group booked individually online, especially on routes into the smaller regional airports where seats are limited.
For destinations that need it – typically islands and coastal villages without a direct road connection – for customers booking flights with us, we offer to take care of booking the local ferry timed against your flight schedule. Where your destination is reachable by road instead, we offer to arrange a rental car at the airport so it’s ready and waiting when you land. It’s easy to book a flight and forget that the journey doesn’t end at the airport – we make sure it’s covered as part of the same booking, with one price and one itinerary, and no gaps for you to plan around yourself.
Many of our destinations offer the airport transfer on request, in such cases we share the flight information with them so they are waiting for you, rather than you waiting for them.
A number on a screen is the easiest thing to compare. What it doesn’t show is everything packed underneath it: a single point of contact instead of three, the extra baggage allowance that’s already included, a hotel sorted out the moment the smartest route involves a stop in Oslo(or elsewhere), transfers and ferries lined up to your flight times, and a currency that holds steady from booking to travel day. None of that shows up next to the fare – it shows up on the day you actually need it, which tends to be exactly when it matters most.
We’re also a member of Reisegarantifondet, Norway’s official travel guarantee fund. Any money you pay us in advance is protected under this scheme, whatever happens to your booking before you travel – one more thing you don’t have to think about once it’s arranged through us.
It’s one of the reasons more than 40,000 guests choose to book their fishing holiday with Din Tur every year. You are very welcome to become one of them.
